The 33rd Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration

The 33rd annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., birthday celebration will take place Monday, January 21, 2019, at 9 a.m. at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way. The theme is “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly… Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere.” Beginning with a Freedom March from Plaza Park at Fifth and “C” Street. The march will begin at 8:00 a.m. and proceed to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center. Transportation will be available to Plaza Park from the Performing Arts Center parking lot for the march. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and will feature youth speakers, scripture readings, musical selections, and keynote speaker will be Falilah “Aisha” Bilal, who serves as a senior trainer with The National Black Women’s Justice Institute.
