June 23, 2017
Chance The Rapper apologized to Dr. Dre on Thursday for dissing his label imprint, Aftermath, as part of a live show feature where he satirized major labels using derogatory monikers. The Chicago phenom took to Twitter and called Dre "a premiere example of creating space for wealth and ownership in an industry designed for creatives to be the foot soldiers," and mentioned that the rapper's collaborations with Beats and Compton Schools, as well as musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, The Game and Eminem, are "unmatched and how i aspire to be. I set out to empower and I completely missed the ball and I know that now." On the show, Chance rechristened Aftermath "Can't Do Math Entertainment."
